πŸŽ“ Federal Government Introduces National Digital Learning Hub for Public Schools

The Federal Ministry of Education has launched a new initiative called the National Digital Learning Hub (NDLH), aimed at bridging the digital divide and enhancing learning in public secondary schools across Nigeria.

The platform, unveiled during a press conference in Abuja, will provide free online access to textbooks, video lessons, practice tests, and interactive learning tools for subjects in the WAEC and NECO curricula.

According to Education Minister Dr. Halima Garba, the project is designed to modernize classroom instruction, improve exam performance, and reach students in remote communities.

β€œEvery student, regardless of location or background, deserves access to quality education. This hub is a step toward educational equality,” she said.

Key Features:

  • Available in English, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba
  • Offline access via downloadable content
  • Tools for teachers to assign and track student progress
  • Special sections for STEM, entrepreneurship, and civic education

The first phase will focus on 1,200 pilot schools across 12 states, with plans to expand nationwide by 2026.

Teachers and education advocates have praised the initiative but called for stable internet infrastructure and teacher training to ensure success.

Students who tested the platform during the launch described it as β€œeasy to use” and β€œbetter than studying from only a textbook.”
